We had our solar panels installed a year and a half ago, and I had an agreement with the salesman, to install a leaf guard on our gutter. This was necessary because I had no access from the roof to clean the leaves in the gutter after the solar panels were installed. Unfortunately, none of this was done, and I was also informed by their office that they are no longer responsible for installing the leaf guard. As a result, when neighbors asked for my opinion about Solgen, I advised them to steer clear of this company.

Had everything signed and ready to go. was told we may not here from them for 10-12 weeks. went past that time and received an email stating our installation voided due to Envelope has expired. wish I could give them 0 stars!

We used this company to install solar panels on our office building. The company difficult to work with and rude. Olin is the only employee there that seems to understand what is going on. It has been nearly two years and our electrical work is still not complete. Solgen argues it’s Duke etc. really it seems like Solgens incompetence. They didn’t file for permits or file them properly. Just a mess

I've had solar panels for a little over a year. The solar panels are great if you don't mind having constant leaks in your roof. Try to contact Marcia Snively is a joke! She said someone would be here to fix it and then you never hear from them again. Contacted people in Washington, they never get back to you. The service guys are great but the company itself is awful. My living room ceiling has had an awful leak for months now from the panel instal and no one will get back with me to fix it. Your panels are under warranty but actually getting anyone to do anything about them is never going to happen. If you want solar panels, choose a different company to go through.

My panels were installed in March, afterwards I installed the conduit from my barn where the panels are located, to my house (mainly because I didn't want my driveway trenched and I own a directional drill) Now we are in October and still can't use solar because it's never been hooked up. I'm paying an electric bill and a bill for solar that I can't use. Communication is horrible, I've taken days off work to be there for install just to have them not show up...6 days in all. My only option is to talk to an attorney.

Same thing everyone else is dealing with. Should have shopped around. I will be willing to bump this review up more. The installation and the beginning of this project was great! After that, they are extremely hard to get ahold of. Will not respond to you and has taken over 4 months just to get an inspection. If Solgen Power responds to this and reaches out to me and makes it right, I will be willing to change this review. At this time, the worst thing is the lack of communication. It is absolutely horrible.

So I have been dealing with my solar not working since june 30. We reach out got told we dont matter and now customer have to be taken care of 1st. That is unacceptable customers service. We kept reaching not respond. So I email homeoffice got a response to a email from jake told him what was going on he had reconfigure are wifi and its shows nothing so he reach out his boss Daniel and he suggested updated are wifi by theis time it was August. We update the wifi and its was showing are solar not even kw which means something is wrong. We called back left voicemail not respond to do if email both again still not respond. So I call homeoffice spoke to heather she saw we had a tickets open and jake was working on it. So she would have him call and he did we did what we did last time and reconfigure the wifi on the app and it show red alarms and we will get a call in too weeks to schudule maintenance. I thank that unacceptable since I have been having this issue since june and if want to get technical we have had since the beginning of this and it was left hanging. When we 1st got solar we went without working for months and never address until the fall from when it was put in. Every time we asked about got told you can see it which was lie. Just didn't want to be bother to fix it.We have had to call and email nonstop. So two weeks to me its unacceptable and I hope your csn go back and find out how much money we lost. Beascues im paying for something that not working. If I could I would to to someone else but we have a contract and I feel your not following the contract.. Hopefully you can back track and make up the pay bc this is on you guys not fixing it.

Solgen is very bad at communication. It took 9 months to install my system. I had to reach out to them each time there was a delay. They failed 4 inspection before the state inspector would pass the solar system. I am not mad about the amount of time it took for the install or inspector. Just wish they could have reach out to me about what was going on with the project instead of keeping me in the dark. Other than that I am happy with the power I am now producing finally

We had a great experience with Solgen. They were easy to connect with, super friendly, and answered all our questions quickly and thoroughly. The installation was quick and well done. Have been producing power for about a month that is very close to the estimation provided to us at the beginning.

Trust me if I could leave lower than a 1 star it would be. The salesman was a complete lier. The company when you call them is trash and will not do what's in the best interest for the customer. The whole first year of service was a joke less than half of the panels were working, had 4 different crews at my house trashing the outside, leaving parts and metal in the yard for my kids to play with. I would not recommend this company to anyone not even my worst enemy!!! Stay away far far away. You spend all this money and for what. Terrible service, non-working panels and to have a terrible salesman. I like how the reviews are more up to date either. If you scroll you will see it in order and notice they are most 1 star. But I'm sure I'll get a robot response from solgen power (Owner) trying to cover what we all say is terrible

Unreachable by phone with no voice-mail, even for the customer service number. That should've been a warning sign. I spoke to someone, finally, who set up a virtual appointment to get a quote. He said, "please don't no-show us if you can't make it." I told him no problem, I will be there. And yet they no-show me when the appointment comes. Customer time is valuable, too. Edit for reply: That is the exact number I tried on Wednesday at 1PM Pacific with no answer or voice-mail... 🤷🏻‍♀️

TOTALLY NOT WORTH THE MONEY SPENT!!! We are in our 3rd year with these solar panels that are suppose to COMPLETELY OFFSET our duke bill but here we are 30 solar panels later and the 108% promised is a JOKE!!! Our lowest duke bill was $25 in the summer, however, the solar panel payment with the duke bill combined is more than I usually pay in the summer per month to duke. I don't understand where they get their information from but people do your research!! They can't promise you 100% like they did us because they can't predict the weather. I really wish I knew what I knew now I would of never gotten them. Also BEWARE of the fact that if you need to replace or repair your roof that they will CHARGE you a FEE to take them off and put them back on however that was one of the questions I asked the salesman and he said it would be no charge. Also check with your homeowners insurance because it went up just to cover them so that's another expense you have to factor in. Get everything in writing or record the whole conversation to make sure your getting what you were promised. Also promised us a nest thermostat and while they said they gave us one we never received it.

I cannot say enough good things about Devin Lake! Devin was incredibly honest and upfront about the entire process of solar installation. I was so impressed with his professionalism and you could really tell he takes pride in his work. He truly believes the cause he supports. Let me tell you, I always ask a million questions and need a ton of info before making a decision like this. Devin was patient and gave precise, honest answers. Devin, I hope your company knows what an asset you truly are. In today's world it is hard to find genuine employees and Solgen hit the jackpot with Devin!

I have recently had solar panels installed by Solgen. I am waiting for my Nest thermostat to be delivered as well as my light bulbs. I do not know yet how well the system will work to offset my electric bill. I was told it should offset it 100 percent in the summer and about. 85-90 percent in the winter.

Love our solar! It was an easy process. They were professional, prompt, and friendly. The crew was efficient and very neat. It was almost as if they weren’t here. They kept us updated throughout the process and even afterwards. If you’re thinking of going solar choose Solgen Power. We’re happy we did!

I was told in March that once I got Solar my bill would be pretty much $0 all year other than January and February. So far since Solar has been turned on my bill with Duke has been roughly the same. I call Solgen and they tell me they’ll send me a check for the Duke bill and will fix the situation but here we are two months later still haven’t received a check and my bill hasn’t changed with Duke. I don’t make much money and now am at the point of having to get a third job to pay my Solgen bill. It’s very frustrating. I loved the person who sold it to me and love the concept of Solar but feel very misled/duped.

I started my installation with Solgen in January. Today is August 24th and my installation is still not complete. They told me my system would power my house 100% but I am still paying $50 to $100 a month, on top of my solar payment. I am not satisfied at all. At this point I would not recommend Solgen Power to anyone.

Dealing with this company has been an entire headache. From being completely unresponsive for weeks and months at a time, I’m positive I’m just another number to these people. On top of that, the design team put all my panels on one side of my house and when I requested to have half them relocated to the other side, because I was only hitting half of my planned production goal of 76%, i was invoiced $300 per panel for THEIR mistake. I put all my faith in these guys and I’ve been let down by their false claims, one of which I was promised 6 months of credits but was only distributed 2 months worth of vouchers. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!

Signed contract one month and the next month we had solar panels. Solid sturdy Tier One panels. Best in the business.

If you're going solar, THIS is the company to go with! Professional to the nth degree, super knowledgeable and wonderfully kind! Solar is the next big thing and for good reasons- saving boatloads of money while helping the Earth all at the same time! LOVE SOLGEN!

Very meh. I wish I had shopped around. The Bad: So Much Stress Ross, my salesperson, was extremely pushy and gave me incorrect information. For example, he forgot to put insulation in the quote. I caught it, and instead of fixing the dang quote, he said they would just take care of it. Well, I had to make a big stink to do get it done. Ross also said that I could pay back the tax credit over 2 years. That’s a lie. You get a year and a half. Here is the thing with all of this. I could have found it out and should have. But Ross made me feel like I had to immediately sign everything; I’m sure to not give me time to do my own research. Their Cincinnati office is inefficient and understaffed. Jim, the scheduler, is the kindest dude. He really tries. But he never followed up with the city on my electrical inspection, which meant I waited 3 weeks for one until I realized something is wrong. Did not communicate my schedule even though I can get fired for leaving work without approval. I had to schedule my own electrical inspection. The day of the electrical inspection, I was told I also had to have a building inspection, which was never requested. I called Jim, and he said he hadn’t had time to do it. It has been just about one month since my panels were installed. I don’t want to throw a good guy under the bus - terrible management is to blame. Solgen forgot to send me my Google nest thermostat that I paid for. The Good: If you get to the right people, you can fix the problems. Micah, the district sales manager, got me insulation. Solgen has tentatively offered to cover my first solar equipment payment if we can’t get it turned on by the second week of May. It is looking like they will need to do that now. Customer service is good. They get back to you. The installation crew was awesome. They worked in the hail. They were professional and nice. Jim is a great guy. He found me a substitute crew when mine was sick. The Bottom Line: if you want solar , do more research. I missed out on a grant from the city, and I am not convinced this is the best company.

It’s an awesome system and the investment u can make to ur home. With inflation so high and interest rates so low. Getting a loan for 25 yrs is like getting the system for free. I would ask for Ross. He was our enthusiastic representative and he was great from start to finish. We agreed to buy system in December and he is still available for questions today. Very informative and will answer all ur questions. I’m a Tesla fan but Solgen is a great deal and their system is just as good. I will add solar to every home I buy in future because I’d rather produce my own energy than buy from the electric company who will raise rates several times in next 25 yrs.

Company is helpful and amazing, they were straightforward they were on time with contacting me like they said they would they made everything easy to understand easy to look at. at first i was hesitant but after talking to an amazing team including moses and devin i just couldn’t say no and i can not wait to see these panels come to life and make life easier on my family

I setup an in-home consult with Chris Lowry after meeting him at the Louisville, KY Build Expo this past weekend. What a pleasant person to speak with! He was very professional and thorough in explaining solar and all the benefits and tax credits when going solar. Not to mention the increase in property value on my home. Was so pleased with the experience, I am going solar and so excited! Thanks so much Chris!

If I could leave a 10 star review I would! I have been looking into solar for a few YEARS now. Due to the utter confusion around kilowatt-something-or-others, photon-over-my-head angels, grid tongue tied ac to dc inverter something I can’t spells, battery-wait-no battery-wait yes battery-wait generator-wait what I’m lost, and strange excel file calculation graphs other companies keep sending to me that I can't figure out how to complete before I am allowed to move on through the game of solar level 2, I have never been able to make this dream a reality...and then in walks my Solar Savior, Ryan Lake! Ryan was able to not only teach me what a flipping kilowatt hour is, he was able to size my system, meet with me to go over my needs, get me a quote, get me financing, and get me booked for my system design ALL within 24 hours me me hitting the help a friend out button. I cannot recommend this company enough and if you have a choice, ask for RYAN LAKE so he too can become your personal Solar Savior!

The sales person refused to give me an estimate in writing or any paperwork. He expected me to sign a 25 year contract electronically on the spot. He left when I said I would need to have a written estimate and time to study it and compare it to other estimates. He said Solgen is not the Solar company for me and I agree. He never did even tell me the price verbally.

I’ve given Solgen around a month to remedy our issues after an incredibly long process of trying to get solar. Signing the paper work, processing the loan and getting locked into the agreement? Literally took an hour. Getting the install scheduled? Confusing. No one surveyed the site, so they came with the wrong equipment and stayed at our house a whole day doing prep work. One day install turned into a four day install. The contractors left insulation torn down in my attic. There was a mess left on our porch from plastic scraps and bits from the install, and insulation trails through my attic onto my carpet. Then we waited months for Duke to switch the meter out, and? Crickets. We were promised a home visit to make sure we understood how everything worked, instead a Nest was dropped off at our house- and we were told that we should be able to figure out how to install it ourselves. Sense to monitor our equipment and solar generation? The app is down. We are not satisfied with any part of Solgen except the ease of financing. That’s not particular to Solgen- it’s through a third party. Go with a different solar company that sees their job through to the end. I feel like the sale was the only pleasant and mess free part of the experience- but we were over promised. They under delivered. I have left three messages with customer service. Nothing but ambiguous assurances that things will be resolved, but we’ve been on our own since the install.

Called and spoke with them multiple times. Made appointment the showed me the diagram of it on my house and provided me a price. We agreed on price and signed contract and ran loan options and submitted and approved. Next step was schedule inspector to start pulling permits and inspect house. Scheduled and they never showed up. A week later I finally get a reason for the no call no show of appointment. Turns out company doesn’t service my area????? But we’re able to run multiple appointments and create a plan and run my credit. DON’T USE.

I am not completely finished being hooked up. However, the batteries are faulting out and the past of my house considered essential to have on is off. It will not come on. No one is answering the phone. I started calling everyone I could think of at 4pm. It says the are open until 5 pm. Now I am stuck all night with a fault in their system and no one to talk too

The sales rep Jay was very helpful in answering all of my questions regarding the process, money, and how solar benefits me. My account rep Marsha was pleasant to work with and had great customer service. The installers showed up when they were scheduled and were the upmost polite individuals I have ever dealt with! The panels look great on my house and you can't even see them from the street view! I couldn't be a more satisfied customer!

I made contact with Solgen Power at the Home Show in Cincinnati and from first meeting to working system took about 4 months during a pandemic. Process went very smoothly. Excited about the energy savings and the reduction in carbon emissions from my home. Highly recommended.

I had Solgen Power install my solar system in January 2020 and couldn’t be happier with the results! From first point of contact to sales to install to customer support these people made me feel like family. I met Travis from Solgen at the Taste of Cincinnati. My wife and I had talked about solar years past and decided to talk with a representative. That following week we were approved and became a part of the Solgen Family. Funny thing is we never got any other estimates from other solar companies! We liked Solgen that much there was no way we were going to buy from someone else. Love my solar system and you will too!

If you are considering going solar (which you should be!) I highly recommend Solgen Power! I had a million questions for Travis when he came to explain how solar would work at my house. He answered them all. I was kept up to date through the whole process and every employee I encountered was professional and super nice. I highly recommend Solgen Power.
