This remarkable, rustic bungalow home is located in Brazil. We owe its truly unique eclectic design to Marina Linhares Interior Design. The interior is rich in culture and colour. The décor is layered in different textures united by the radiant, natural tone they give the home as a hole. There are lots of details worth exploring in each corner of this house too. The design team termed the home “The House of the People,” and its contents certainly do feel like an anthropological treasure chest. The structure of the home is quite old, and is made of stone and wood. The design team modernized the interior with the addition of an open floor plan among other amenities while still maintaining its earthy essence. There is certainly a lot of vivacity spilling out of the 95 sqm. property. Standing in the lovely little garden, it would seem the interior exudes a welcoming warm glow, inviting communal space inside.

Naturally subdued exterior

From the façade, the home blends with its surroundings as a seasoned fixture that looks as if it’s been there as long as the large tree in the front. The two large openings situated on either side of the trunk add to the cohesive feel between the home and its surroundings. The stone and tin roof are traditional materials used in tropical regions, which lend the home an added quality of authenticity. The patio is enveloped in lush vegetation, making it the perfect little garden oasis for relaxing with good company.

Eclectic furnishings and layered textures

The interior lends itself into a sizeable open plan, which successfully maximises the space constraints of this small property. The dining area flows into communal living space, where all the eclectic furniture works in tandem to create a rich, warm living space. The layering of textures is truly remarkable. From the large woven rug, to the natural stone exterior to the various wooden furniture pieces and plants, this place is destined to peak your curiosity and excite the senses.

Enriching the senses

The sitting room is perhaps the most obvious display of the vast mix of furniture and decoration employed in this interior. There are a multitude of different chairs, plants, mirrors, and books to study in great detail. The home almost doubles as a cultural and historical exhibition in and of itself. The green tropical scenery complements the broad palette of brown and warm orange hues at play in the space. Anyone would surely find the space enriching to the mind in addition to the senses.

Eclectic & sophisticated

Honing in more closely on the kitchen, we see that there are lots of little luxurious details. There are some essential oils perched next to the sink, and the kitchen fronts themselves are beautifully finished. The subtle glow of the built-in light fixtures, various plants, and cultural photos and mementos beautifully blend the eclectic with the sophisticated.

Unification with nature

Finally, heading to the porch, which is surrounded by vegetation, you can begin to imagine how invigorating life would be in such a place. This porch would be the perfect spot of sit and watch an intense tropical rainstorm on a balmy night. The light colour furnishings match the sheer roof bathed in sunlight. Throughout this home, there is a strong sense of unification between the interior decorations themselves and with the natural surroundings.
